When and where
Next Thursday, October 15th, five days from now, from 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM
The place is Taj Vivanta, 2275 Tumkur Road, Yeshwantpur, Bangalore 560022, Karnataka, India.
The spirit of the event
Could you imagine how hot it’d be a Maker Faire in Bangalore? Workbench Projects, in collaboration with NASSCOM, did it and therefore launched it on Indiegogo and as you can see the campaign is still open to contributions. Workbench Projects is a (co-working space + FabLab + Makerspace) formula, while NASSCOM is a big IT funded in 1988. The event is about the celebration of the local Maker community, growing day after day. Tons of you, dear UDOOers, are from India!
What is at stake anyway is not the Faire itself, but more especially what the Bangalore Mini Maker Faire could mean for India
Take a look at the current situation of Maker Faire across the world.
As you can see, although the Faire is popular even in China and New Zeland, it’s not so popular in India. This is indeed the first Maker Faire in this huge country, and thus it can seed the environment for what could become in the next years the biggest Maker Faire in the World. By showing up you will not only help the Maker scene to grow larger and larger: you will be part of history.
Curious then? To give you a taste, here is an intriguing lamp that won’t let you work, by Jaivardhan Singh Channey
If you want to know more, visit the Facebook page of the event but more than anything else, buy your ticket right now and visit the greatest world’s Maker Faire of the future.
You can reserve your ticket on Indiegogo, Eventshigh or on the website of the Workbench Projects.
