Geodata Analysis with UDOO
Hi UDOOers,
here is a cute project recently added to the UDOO collection on Hackster.io by Ole Wolf.
Geophone is an amplifier and a frequency analyzer for geometric sensors such as the SM-24 geophone element from ION Geophysical Corp. Every second the logger reports frequency components from 0 to 256 Hz and their measured amplitudes for amplitudes that exceed a programmed threshold over the serial port.
The amplifier is a single-sided PCB that fits on an Arduino as a shield. The Arduino handles the frequency analysis but relies on a PC like UDOO to store and visualize the data.
In the project you can also find the Github code.
The Github repo presents an Arduino heavily commented: building the geoadata analyzer should be easy thanks to this step-by-step guide made by Ole Wolf.
Schematics and PCB layout are inside the repo in EAGLE format, by the way you can get a clue of them in the images below.
A sample Scilab and Perl script for plotting the geodata frequency analysis in a heat map is also provided in the Github repo.
What else to say? Happy coding dudes! See you at the Embedded World 2015 in Nuremberg!
