Guys,

since our kickstarter days, many of you asked us a way to control the UDOO X86 with its own TV remote control. That’s why during these past months we worked to implement it and TODAY we’re very happy to announce that the CEC-HDMI support for UDOO X86 has been added. Well to be honest we’re still improving it but it’s a huge step anyway. Check the dedicated page in our X86 Docs to know how to add this important feature. As you can see from the pict below we’re really enjoying it in our office 😉

For the ones who don’t know what the CEC-HDMI is, here’s a quote from wikipedia:

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to allow users to command and control devices connected through HDMI by using only one remote control. For example by using the remote control of a television set to control a set-top box and or DVD player. Up to 15 devices can be controlled. CEC also allows for individual CEC-enabled devices to command and control each other without user intervention.
