UDOO open-source smart lamp controlled with Fizzly

Hi maker bros!
Today for lunch there are not one, but two projects!
Guess your house is crammed of old abajours and every time you turn on the light a terrible shiver of XIX century runs down your spine. But what about making a smart lamp you can totally control in a swipe from your sofa as it suits the postmodern man?

UDOOFizzlyLamp

So the first project is about an open-source LED smart lamp made with UDOO Board.
On the UDOO Board a UDP server is run, receiving packages containing colors that should be reproduced on the LED lamp. When the package is received it’s forwarded to the SAM3X microcontroller on the internal serial. The microcontroller receives the message, reads the RGB components of the color and controls three pins that activate the LED strip. You also need an amplifier to transform the 3.3.v output of the UDOO in a 12 volts signal, necessary to turn on a LED strip.

The second project is about an Android App that connects to Fizzly, a Smart Tracker we recently launched on Kickstarter, via Bluetooth Low Energy. Once the connection is ok, you will receive a notification about the accelerometer and the gyroscope. You can use the accelerometer to track if Fizzly is shaked and whether it is, to turn on or to turn off the light.
Use the gyro instead to vary the light color. When the light color changes, the Fizzly App on your mobile phone send a message to Fizzly that will change the LED color accordingly.

The fusion of the two projects is realized through an UDP client in the Android App that on the start will check if in the same wireless network there is our UDP server, will connect to it and, in this case, each time a color has been varied this information will be sent to the UDOO Board and the color of the lamp will change accordingly.

So here it is, what’s your opinion?
Do you like this DIY smart-home application?
There are several others you can create your own with UDOO powered with Fizzly.
